Course Alerts

This page has been designed to provide flexibility for both the Grounds Department and Pro Shop to tweet up to the minute news on course happenings to our members and the public all year long.  This information may be accessible without logging on to the member only section on either a computer or mobile device.   These updates could include course closures, frost delays, course aeration. temp. hole closures, course maintenance, etc.

FROST/ WEATHER DELAY PROCEDURE

On the morning of a potential frost or weather-related delay, the pro shop and greens staff will decide together if there will be a delay. IF NO FROST/WEATHER DELAY IS REQUIRED, NO NOTICE WILL BE ISSUED.

NOTICE AND UPDATES

In the event of a delay, the decision will be made no later than the first tee time listed on the tee sheet. Notice of the delay:
  • will be posted to Twitter and to the Club website, and
  • will be sent to each player on the tee sheet by email for that day notifying them of the delay.
If notice of a delay has been posted, the first update will be posted by 9:00 am (or earlier), indicating either a new start time or a continuation of the delay.
If a delay continues after 9:00 am, a second update will be posted by 10:00 am (or earlier).
  • On weekdays, the second update will indicate either a new start time or a continuation of the delay.
  • On weekends and holidays, the second update will indicate either
    • a 10:30 am start time, or
    • a 12:00 Noon shotgun start.

WEEKDAY START TIMES

  • The first time a frost or weather delay occurs in the fall, all of the tee times on the original draw will be delayed for that day. When the course is opened for play, tee times will commence in accordance with the times posted at the beginning of the tee sheet.
  • The second time a frost or weather delay occurs, tee times will be adjusted to match the actual time of play. When the course is opened for play, tee times prior to the time of opening will be cancelled and play for that day will begin with the tee time coinciding with the opening time and continue in accordance with the remaining times on the tee sheet.

Delay 1st occasion 2nd occasion 3rd occasion 4th occasion 5th occasion 6th occasion etc.
Process DELAY all tee times CANCEL
tee times prior to start of play
DELAY all tee times CANCEL
tee times prior to start of play
DELAY all tee times CANCEL
tee times prior to start of play

This pattern will continue on an alternating basis throughout the winter season. Thus, the third time a frost or weather delay occurs, tee times will be delayed; the fourth time a frost or weather delay occurs, tee times prior to the commencement of play will be cancelled; and so on. (This alternating arrangement is designed to balance the inconvenience as evenly as possible between early and later players.)

WEEKEND & HOLIDAY START TIMES

Before 10:30 am, the weekday process will apply on weekends and holidays. Tee times will either be delayed or cancelled in accordance with the sequence shown in the table. However, if the delay goes past 10:30 am, the tee sheet is deleted.
  • A shotgun start at Noon will result, if the course is opened for play.
  • Anyone wishing to play in the shotgun must phone the pro shop to book a starting tee position.

COURSE CLOSURE

In the event a frost or weather-related delay goes beyond 12:00 Noon on any day, the course will be closed for the day.
